PDMR II Site Artist Ritsu-Chan IMPORTANT OUT OF CHARACTER!
New Valentine's Skin! Isn't it sooo cute? I like the girl and her pikachu outfit. Now, we're still making the boards. Of course then we'll have to make the threads which provide some information on said area! >/ But don't worry, we'll open some day!...
How does one day in 2010 sound to you? >|;;
Welcome to PDMR! Makinoshan Region was, at a point in time, one of the most fortunate regions in the world. It was huge with many routes and extremely beautiful, breath taking natural creations, unharmed by the many cities which had been built in Makinoshan Region. It was unique in shape, two large areas of land on the western and eastern side with a huge island floating in between the circular sea which divided the two portions of the region. A frosty island sat under the smaller island- now called Elemental Island- serving as a resting place for those who had to cross the sea in order to get to the other side of the region. A small chain of islands lived high in the north. Like most regions Makinoshan had a League. However due to unfortunate circumstances the League had been... destroyed. After sixteen years the region is one again blooming into it's original beauty with a new League. All trainers are now flocking to the magnificent region of Makinoshan!

IMPORTANT IN CHARACTER!
Hm. Well, nothing seems out of the ordinary, as it appears. Where rather little trainers are flocking to Makinoshan (frankly, some people seem rather happy with their isolation from the rest of the regions) strange things are happening in the Destination Region, as Makinoshan has been nicknamed. For one thing the ancient True Shadow pokémon, Tsgna (ZIG-nah), seems to be alive. Not good...
West Makinoshan
Strong winter snow warning. East Makinoshan
Strong winter storm warning.
You can talk about anything here. Here, at the General Board, you may pretty much talk about anything you want to. It is a calm board where there is little rules and many different thing can be done. Primarily, random things. Here you can just pretty much put funny little quote and more so far as they abide to the General Rules in our dear Information Stand. As long as that is done you may do anything here. Also the Absences, Affiliation, and Advertisment sub-boards are here so you can tell us if you're going away or if you want to affiliate with us. Do whatever!
The very first stop in your journey through PDMR, the Information Stand is a very informative board where many important things are posted. It includes rules and various mechanics giving you the low down on our tight-knitted community. Here are things you absolutely must read like how to travel across Makinoshan Region, and few factors here and there, and many more topics you must read.
It's easy to create a character! All you need to do is fill out our form. Once you have done that a list that shows your Pokéyen, Inventory, and Makinoshan Caught Pokémon will be posted and it will be moved to the 'Accepted Characters' sub-board.
A feature rather original to most of the world of forums, the Member Profiles board is just like the Character's Corner but. However, unlike the CC, the Member Profiles doesn't need to be made and doesn't have a form on it. Instead you simply create a thread with any title and put stuff about you in that thread (however it is required that you have one thread per member- there isn't even a need for any more). Simple, easy, and you don't have to do it if you don't want to.
Here at this board you can do many things. At The Shops, your Pokéyen you get from posting (not the one your characters have!) will have some use as you can buy and sell items in your own shop. The Auction House is also quite fun where you can auction off some spare stuff you have. The items you can find here can differ from Shining Powder which turns one of your pokémon into a shiny version right to a marble which can give you a random pokémon of the said type! You'll have to come to see what's in between.
Tearin Town, the town of beginnings. So nicknamed for a very good reason, you should know quite well. Tearin Town is quite a quaint place where nothing new happens. It is mainly a field of grass with a few flowers dotting the hills accompanied with a tree here and there. The houses here are mainly made out of logs but as you get closer to the fountain, the houses convert into brick homes. The pokémon lab here stands out with it's more civilized structure.
Rather a plain route, Route One is merely a stretch of grass and flowers as far as the eye can see (depending on how far you've traveled), heading north-east to Aontest Village. It contains an enlightening forest and a small pond where trainers can rest, catch pokémon, or train. It is, by far, the most relaxing route in all of Makinoshan, but they say it holds a deadly foe under the glass-like surface of the pond. Added to that is the mysterious shrine said to be placed in the forest, but no one has ever seen it. Some travelers even state that at this shrine, your pokémon can be healed... and even some more unbelievable things can occur...
Aontest Town is a small place with coral brick pathways, a lighter coral row of bricks lining the roads. The center piece of your first town appears to be a shiny Contest Hall, the typical sort of building. Square shaped which shiny red paint on the exterior, a lobby once you come inside, a stage entered by passing through a pair of double doors, and a contestant room behind the counter, this is the typical Contest Hall. A Pokémart and Pokécenter are in the neat town, each very clean and tidy. In fact, this town is very clean and the grass is one of the prettiest of shades. Very peaceful with kind folks, this is the perfect example of a peaceful town.
Route Two, the Pass of Mist. As the mnckname states rather clearly, this route is entirely enveloped with an opaque mist. Shadows stretch on the dense mist making shadows quite similar to ghouls. Very efficent to the ghost-type pokémon who inhabit Route Two. A silent river cuts through Route Two, making a bee line strait to Phantom Woods. Maybe you should follow the river to Phantom Woods? Or just go right to Beachree City, jumping across the stepping stone of the river which there are many of?
Beachree Town, as you might is guessed, got it's name from the two words beach and tree. Why, you ask? Well, it's quite simple. Beachree Town is well know for being a sunny area and it's fantastic beaches help out with the popularity rating. To add to that, many palm trees grow along the sand which covers the magority of Beachree City. Two palm trees stand by the doors of Beachree Gym, shading the door from the amazingly hot sun. You've reached the first gym and it's Gym Leader, Katherine Il'lam. The next step to the League awaits you... in her personal asylum. ._.;;
And where there is a beach, there is cliffs. Route Three- The Stretch of Cliffs. Route Three is very rocky, Geodude being a very common sight, as is cliffs. The cliffs of Route Three are quite close to the ocean, water splashing onto the rough terrian of the cliffs. One must be wary of where they place their foot or you could slip and fall down the many kilometers of air and then finally into the water below. The height of the cliffs progressively gets higher at the middle of the route so you're probably not going to bring any normal shoes.
The Fruitening Jungle is what it says. A large jungle of trees and fruit. The pokémon here are very exotic ranging from the Chatot to the useless Magikarp. It is constantly raining here in the Fruitening Jungle with a humid feeling in the atmosphere causing extreme uncomfortability. The ponds here are brimming with Finneon and the like, each ready for the catching. You can see lots of berry trees providing healing items for any tired pal of yours... just make sure you watch out for the wild vigoroth.
Manyvine City gets its name from two words: many and vine. This isn't any surprise, however. The city hides in a large tropical rainforest where rain and humidity is a common sight here. Although the apartment buildings are quite high and can easily look over the trees, they are smouldered by thick vines, blending in with the area. Although there is no Gym or even a Contest Hall, Manyvine City is a favourable place to grow berries. The entrance into the city is hidden in a waterfall so when you first get to Manyvine City, you should go to the PokéCenter and dry up..
The Contrary Cavern is quite an odd place for it's combonation of types. You mostly see pokémon who's types odd each other, most oddly the powerful and well known fire/water and the mystical dark/psychic. It is a very peaceful place where the air is always calm and cheerful and many pokémon are seen frolicing in the quite bright caves, light created by many glowing minerals. Alas, the exceptions here are very roudy, and the battles are found down below the ground, almost ten stories below the surface (you can still breath, thankfully. Shafts have been tunneled to let fresh air in).
The journey's not over yet. Although you have found a way to get through Contrary Cavern, another test awaits you. Route Four has been named the Road of Clouds- don't think that it is a flying-base route. That, my friend, is quite a few meters off. Route Four - The Road of Clouds is a dry place where the humidity has been replaced by an extremely unwelcoming, dry feeling. Electric pokémon are scattered along the dry soil, the thunder clouds making them feel at home. You don't want to stay when it rains, however- when it rains, it pours.
Zestyzany City speaks for itself- all the folks in here are zany in there little ways. You are sure to find something to do here, especially in the Safari Game which all regions seem to have, this one with pokémon appearing everytime you blink. The pokémon in it are all hyped up too. People are seen bustling around and talking rapidly, conversations ending in five minutes. Eavesdropper who aren't familliar with the quick mouths of Zestyzany City will have a hard time. The buildings are quite high due to how fast the workers work.
Route Five is called the Twist of Flora. This makes it easy to understand why the place is blooming with healthy trees and vivid flowers. Route Five is a place where nature is all but bountiful and the flowers grow as vividly as the sun on a hot summer day. The skies are always blue without a cloud in sight, the groves which house unimaginably large trees providing shade to all the pokémon of Route Five. The soil here is quite good for growing berries but the Sceptile appear to have beaten you to it. So much for that.
Tempurfect Village is merely a small village of warm people who are more than happy to give you a place to stay and maybe some hot chocolate in winter. The name has a combination of the words tempurature and perfect which suit well as the weather is always perfect. In summer there is always a breeze, yet in winter, the sun is always bright enough to keep everything warm. Everyone here is warm to others, and they will gladly point the way to the Tempurfect Gym, where the easygoing Chris Yuki sleeps awaits challenges. You really should stay here for a while - Tempurfect is like the safe haven of Makinoshan Region!
The Metal Maze is an odd place in Makinoshan Region. Like said, it is a maze made out of metal and steel, lights up on the round ceilings. The corridors can gets as large as a palace's dining hall up to only a meter tall and wide. Bronzor, beldum, and the other steel-types populate this maze. They say that this maze appeared in only a single night which is near impossible as everyone knows. Will you be able to travers the long and winding halls of the Metal Maze and all it's machines and lights that look the same?
Rosagon City is a beautiful city where the people are warm and kindhearted. Although the weather might not be as beautiful as that of Tempurfect City and some people aren't as kind, the scenery is one to be proud of. Sprinklers sit by the walkways, bushes framing many buildings, fountain, benches, and other pieces of scenery. Fountain are plentiful in this city; don't fret, water-trainer. Most of the water used here is from a special underground lake and drains collect the excess water. The strange and rare Roseluv is a frequent sight in the underground lake which can also be accessed by the Contest Hall in Rosagon City where a new ribbon can be obtained.
Route Six is... a really sticky marsh. The boggy parts of Route Six are quite sticky and can drag you down without warning whilst the tall cattails will make it hard for anyone to see and help you. Trees loom over the few dry areas of Route Six, most of them populated by kakuna and beedrill, making Route Six a dangerous place. It is suggested that you bring a stash of Repels because the pokémon just come over and over again, bringing the HP of your pokémon down, slowly and surely. And a first aid kit for yourself would be useful.
Shine Village is a wonderous part of Makinoshan Region. It is a place where most of the people here are quite kind and thankful with life. The most spiritual place of Makinoshan Region, it's houses all look like shrine, although one house in particular sits in the middle. There is nothing to see in it- literally. The empty shrine is said to be the very first shrine in the whole of Shine Village although it's owner is unknown. Usually quiet, Shine Village is a favourable place to sit down and relax while listening to the calls of the birds.
Route Seven, called the Dragon's Den by most travelers who had traversed the rough terrain of the mountainous route. The few trees that grow are usually filled with different fruits that seem ready to be eaten, however, you must be very careful. Stepping into even three meter range could cause a Wild Bagon to appear and use Ember. The pokémon here are usually very vicious... well, the male, anyways. The ladies seem a quite a bit kinder, the ones slapping their mates with a tail or wing every so often. Maybe the possible Dragonbreath burns or the gashes from a Dragon Claw is worth it as this place is more than great for training!
Whether you like it or not, the salty fragrance of the sea dwells in the valley city of Valleyport. Many ships line the seashore leaving no beach to swim in. Although there might be no beach in Valleyport there is still a carnivale where one can enjoy many rides and carnival treats, specifically cotton candy, goodies, and the well know gut knotting rides like rollercoaters and a few more. One will never know what could happen here, although you should be careful- pokémon are rather attracted to the bright lights and food of Valleyport Carnival!
Route Eight you may take by boat or by surfing, either way, you can find many pokémon. The boat ride isn't a luxtury liner but it could be depending on how much money you have. The second option is just surfing but that's somewhat boring since there isn't much to see on Route Eight. A few rocks pop out from the water providing a place to cling to if you wanna swim. It is a peaceful route of the sea in which you will take in order to get to Unomer City and your next badge. Go on- the sea awaits.
For Ex to describe. Thanks, Vick! ^~ Unomer is one of the more... isolated towns of Makinoshan Region. Hard edged, many haunting beachs line the small island city, totally eclisped by foreboding buildings. One of the most nature destroyed cities it is a simbol of how strong the effects of man can be. Whilst most of the folks here either desprately try to save there dear island from drowning into the water thanks to the weightly burden of all of these buildings most passerbys prefer to go right to the Gym. And a steel hard gym it is, run by Crescent and Kureck Moon.
Beyond Unomer Town lies a path of choppy waves, sharp rocks and fierce Pokemon. Gyarados frequently patrol these waters, as do Sharpedo, and neither species takes kindly to people swimming or surfing in their route. Take your Pokemon if you wish, but I recommend the fine ferry service that runs to the next island, even though wild Pokemon rarely approach the boat. Should you decide to Surf, best of luck to you, and remember to take a strong Water-type, as frequent storms make it hard for most to keep above the water.
The only object that marks your transition into route ten, Inanis Island is small and uninhabited, making it easy to pass by as you head to Luklight City. In fact, if you take the ferry, you'll find that you pass right by this tiny little place, but those taking their Pokemon can stop along the way and have a look. Consisting almost entirely of sand, with a few rocks jutting out around the edges, the island is dotted with signs of life - an abandoned hut here, a pair of broken glasses there. Either way, no-one lives there now but a few wild Pokemon, so you can feel free to rest here for a while before heading off again.
After the trials of Route Nine, Route Ten - Storm's Eye is a pleasant change. It gained its name for being a short piece of unnaturally still water leading up to the next city, an abrupt change from the storms that came before it. Have fun playing with the gentle creatures that inhabit this route as you go further into the western sea, and give your Pokemon a rest if you're Surfing - it's easy enough to swim alone here, given the lack of large waves. The sparkling waters of Route Ten await!
Despite being one of the most secluded places in Makinoshan, Luklight City is hailed as the most exciting place in the whole region. Home to Makinoshan's Game Corner, as well as the largest selection of clubs and other party venues in all the regions, it is little wonder that travellers flock to the city in droves, and better yet, the whole place runs on hydro electricity, making it efficient and cheap to run. However tempting it may be, do not get swept up in the bright lights, young trainer, for somewhere within the endless partying, one small building can be found, in which the next Makinoshan Gym Leader awaits.
It's name is quite fitting for the icy route. The weather has taken an unexpected turn of events for as you surf along the route, towards the south of Makinoshan Region, the water surface suddenly turns into pure ice. For this you must have a strong water pokémon with the Surf attack, most likely some sort of Dewgong or Sharpedo or anythign else that can easily break through the ice flows of Route Eleven. As you near the large, southern island made out of a single route and two villages, the ice starts to get thicker and you soon are able to stand on these floating surfaces of ice. However, be careful where you step- some of these icy patchs are thinner than what you would expect, the snow permantly covering this icy land...
The moment you step into this town you quickly feel a very cold type of sensation. Froid Town is much like Snowpoint all the way in Sinnoh region- quiet. Althoguh the people here are quite when they are outside, if they offer you a invitation inside, you really should take it. Once the folk here are inside they turn quite hospitable and are nice to talk to. A place with a contest hall the people here are friendly on the inside- just give them some time! Although something that catches many eyes would be the DayCare in the Town which sits inside of a building so grass can be grown without the snow! Froid Town really is a misunderstood place...
A long, long route covered in permafrost and ice, Route Twelve is commonly used as a racing track for many different races held nearly everyday! The snow here is quite high, easily reaching a full grown man's waist. However some of the snow here as been patted down due to the many pokémon feet pounding against the snow. Mountains, a river, and even a large lake become obstacles in this large race course. Of course you could always take the easy path of Route Twelve and miss out on all the action. Oh, well... you may choose. Either way, many different pokémon such as Holberii populate this route... and it's second part.
A small village with powerful trainers, the sailor from Incandescent Port leaves you here. The fresh smell of the sea swims in the atmosphere of this city along with a calming silence. It is quite homy if not very still in this town, small signs of technology dotted around. The trainers here are older than most, about in their thirties or so. They where those who have taken the League challenge at a time in their lives but have since then retired from the life of traveling. It is a place where you can remember all of your journeys before taking the most dangerous and thrilling ride of your live. Rest up at Memory Village and remember the many friends you have made... it is time to take the test of the Victory Trials!
*leaves for Ex* The churning waters of this devious route are much worse than any of the other water routes put together. Worse by ten fold even. The raging waters are completely savage leaving no ships unsunk. Because of this no boats ever go into Victory Wates which would explain exactly why the sailer from Incandescent Port has left you in the first small island village of Last Paths. Heal up, buy some items, and bring a pokémon that knows Surf, Dive, and Fly. Then enter the begining of the trials of victory, the trials which will test you and decide if you are worthy of the battle in the League Tower.
A village nearly exact to Memory Village this place symbolized the true victory. You have traveled all of Makinoshan Region and lived to tell the tale. You fought beast much taller than ever thinkable to caught pokémon from all around the world. The people here... are there people here? The Village is deserted but the PokéCenter and PokéMart and all the other places seem to be new and still well used. However, like stated before, no one is ever really seen walking around. Maybe you should just rest up and leave... quickly.
*gently nudges Ex* From after the village where you can heal up your companions a monsterous canyon awaits you. Victory Canyon, as it has been named, really is huge. Towering over you at a height of ten stories the canyon is at least twenty floors in all, ten above the earth's crust and ten below the surface. It will take ages to get through the canyon with traps such as gaint boulders, pits with throns in it, and even the plain maze-like rooms. It will be an impossibility to get through here and you'll need around ten Escape Ropes in total if you want to get out... alive, that is. We've had our fair amount of deaths here but a bit of the wild pokémon in here are kind enough to guide you around... for a fee. Or they might just kill you.
An odd village this place is filled with misfits of odd powers. Although kind and caring they tend to be left out which is why this tiny town is isolated from the rset of the region. In truth Egalliv-tsal Town has a fair amount of modern buildings and computers and a large mall. The trainers here are very, very strong and have nearly beaten the League in the past when there was a whole different generation controling it. However you can listen to many old stories from the veteran trainers and pass the time away. I suggest you spend a lot of time training. The last trial is watching over your shoulder...
When you finally get out from the darkness of Victory Canyon a different sight awaits you. A forest spans across you where the trees can easily over tower any sort of building and the pokémon here are so strong that your current party might not make it. However, since there is a tiny village just before this forest, you can heal back there, and continue along. Of course with such luck of having a free heal before journeying into the last of three trails comes the consequenses. These consequences are simply put- the pokémon of this forest are much stronger than ever. However when you feel down you can look up towards the only structure that can ever go higher- the League Tower which sit proudly on a short plateau, looking over the whole of Makinoshan Region.
You've faced all the Gym Leaders, you've gained all the badges, you've made it past the trials of Victory. Now, you face this beautiful forest. In the center, stands a tall building, home to the Makinoshan Pokémon League. You'll face the Elite Four, and the Champion, each in their own room, waiting for your challenge. Dotted around this modern building are several small holes, large enough to fit a young woman, filled with water. They say these holes connect to a series of underwater canals, which in turn open up to all the water routes in the region; careful not to fall in. In the lobby there is Nurse Joy and a small Pokémart - heal up, buy many Hyper Potions as, and make sure your Pokemon are all ready. There's no turning back. So head on in...
With Harmonic Bay behind you only a snowy valley awaits. Two spare mountains from Hakuhime create this valley and a small amount of caves can be seen, each small and hard to see. However the strong amount of trees covered in snow seem to pull trainers in for some training. Be careful; avalanches are quite frequent. If you manage to climb up the slope you can reach the last city or this snowy island. However this land is a boreboding place and there is a reason Bitter Trail is a bitter race. This area, the end of the trail , is the reason. However you are very close to the finish line; Omnice Town awaits.
The frigid ice forces you away, far away from this place. Omnice, unlike Froid Town, is really cold. As, in very, very cold. The folk of this town are vicious and don't like talking. No one else really knows why this is but they don't really want to figure it out. Who does? Most of the travelers don't even like staying at this place, never mind walking through. However there is something strange for you to investigate. There happens to be an abandoned building that was once a Contest Hall. People say that a ghostly figure haunts the stage...
Although Starter Academy isn't as fancy and large as Elemental Academy which lies to the east, it is still quite an exciting place. Many novice trainers gather here to learn more about the world of pokémon and to become better battlers. Although this building can seem odd at times, it is certainly worth the stop. But you shouldn't stop here just to see things- it is the only place where you can heal your precious little pokémon. From the lobby there are two hallways which each lead to different classrooms and there are two stair cases which lead to the dormitories on the second floor. With many trainers flocking to Starter Academy, the possibilities are endless! Enter, trainer! The school days await you!
Just to the north of Zestyzany City is a large building. As one might guess, this grande place is known as Makinoshan's one and only Safari Zone, where exotic pokémon may be caught. Beyong the large building is a wide stretch of grass and water where many wild pokémon thrive. There are fours main zones in the Safari Zone: Notak Area, Ohtoj Area, Noneh Area, and Ninos Area. They are quite different in their own little way, each having different pokémon. The people who work here will refuse to tell you how to tell where a certain pokémon species is- you will have to figure out for yourself! So, whatcha waiting for? Pay 500 Pokéyen and you may start this wild, ten pages journey! Confused on how this works? Just ask who ever is moderating the thread which you are in to move to a different area and they'll move it!
Have you ever read a Marowak's PokéDex Entry? If you you must of heard that, some place in the world, there is a Marowak graveyard. Well... this is it. Many Thick Cubs and Marowak skulls (with the rest of their skeleton) are scattered along the dying grass. Everything in the area seems to have a strange, depressing gray hue and the trees have no leaves, their branches hanging there limply. Simply the most lonely place in all of Makinoshan, the area is populated by many pokémon, mostly the Cubone and Marowak. However these is an oddity alomst the loneliness- a woman for the most lonly aura, dawning but a gray cloak. Also, a small, rather lifeless orphanage sits in the middle of the sad, lifeless forest. But the question remains a secret to most of the people who travel through here, if not for the sake of exploring... Can you see the true beauty hidden behind the lonely, happiness ridden forest?
Accessable if you have obtained the item "Broken Bone" in an OOC event, contest, etc.
From the moment you step in Froid Town this is one of the largest buildings in view. It is a gigantic dome type of building, it's frame shaped much like an igloo. Within it is a pokémon paradise where you can drop your pokémon off to play with others. However, in order to get here, you must know what the adress of the DayCare is so you may transport your pokémon to it via transportation machine like those in your regular Pokémon Center. It's similar to how you teleport pokéballs and items into your PC account! The DayCare is run by a nice couple and has enough rooms for every pokémon type along wtih some goodies your pokémon might find enjoyable.
Accessable if you have obtained the item "Day Care Card" in an OOC event, contest, etc.
